19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his first trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult period, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-term coach his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt from March of that year.
Success also means Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 various tournaments.
"For the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the first title I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had led commentators to question if his ability to perform at the highest level was over.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to come to the net and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five points to go ahead.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his first professional championship, seized the initiative to force a decider.
Moutet defended 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive third set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, he earned the win with a shot at the net, with his opponent unable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
