TikTok is expected to eliminate 439 jobs in its content moderation team in the UK capital, with trade unions and internet security professionals expressing worry that humans are being replaced by automated systems.

A company official stated that people-led review would continue to be important, but AI can shield workers by filtering out the most graphic content ahead of it has to be seen by people. The platform reported a notable drop in disturbing and violent content reviewed by content reviewers over the previous year due to reliance on its automated systems.
